EDUCATION
Sunday School
Please join us at 10:45 am on Sunday mornings after worship. Pastor Rueter leads an Adult Study of the second half of the Gospel of Mark, paralleling the texts for his sermons through November. The High School Youth utilize materials that focus attention on a biblical concept or a current issue and the Junior Highs through Pre-K rotate through three centers each week. They experience a Bible Story teller, who covers the Biblical story in an interesting way and guides them in discussion. They also rotate through an arts and craft area and engage in a musical activity.First Communion Classes
Living Hope has a policy that permits First Communion before Confirmation. Pastor Rueter will gather young people (6th-8th grade) and at least one parent or mentor for four sessions that will prepare the youth for their First Communion. Children who are completing the fifth grade will be invited to take the preparation for First Communion.Confirmation Classes
Confirmation classes are held every other Sunday evening for 7th - 8th graders (also 9th and 10th graders who have not yet affirmed their baptismal covenant). Normally, a youth will participate in the class for two years. The Rite of Confirmation is designed to make the movement from the childhood ministry of the church into the adult ministry of the church. The youth will be given opportunities to grow in their understanding of the Christian faith and to speak that faith for themselves.
